Devine reduced the deficit to 3-2 and a couple of brilliant saves from keeper Sean Simpson prevented Ferryhill adding to their tally.
The pivotal moment of the match came on 75 minutes, when the visitors had Nigel Milner sent off after reacting to Boar being awarded a penalty for a foul on Karl Anderson.
Nick Thompson, in search of his hat-trick, stepped up to take the kick but merely sidefooted the ball into the arms of keeper John Cavanagh.

The ball was played from defence through midfield and a cross from winger Campbell Bell found an unmarked Lloyd McGee, whose powerful shot from 20 yards flew under the keeper’s hands.

Waldridge’s possession play was again rewarded when a quick break allowed Jamie Taylor to pick out Bell, coming in from the right, and his fierce shot flew past keeper Sean Simpson.
On the stroke of half-time, Waldridge grabbed a third, with Bell getting on the end of a Chris Days pass and hitting the top corner.

Langley, though, will rue their failure to capitalise on their periods of dominance.
