Sunday 19th April Buffs tough it out to seal first cup in potential treble

PELTON RAOB lifted the first of three potential cups with a convincing victory in the Ramside Hall Hotel Cup-Winners’ Cup final.The Premier side showed their class to defeat gallant Third Division outfit Ferryhill Celtic 4-1 at New Ferens Park.Craig Mickle’s double led the way for Pelton, backed by strikes from Luke Kerry and Alex Peake, with sub Craig Winkworth replying.Matthew Smith stood out for Pelton, with Jason White top man for Ferryhill.Buffs met Brandon Sports Club in last night’s Castle Insurance Alan Smith Memorial Trophy final and have a third final to look forward to, on May 15, when they meet Newton Aycliffe WMC in the Durham City Smiles League Cup final.Ferryhill Celtic also have another final, with Houghton Wild Boar All-Starsawaiting in May 8s Stepy’s Coaches President’s Trophy final.

Newton Aycliffe WMC landed the Durham County Sunday Cup on Thursday night, beating Stockton Hardwick 2-1 in the final at Eppleton CW.
